BIBLE STUDY

How to Use this Study

This Study is rooted in much of the Old Testament to reveal God’s heart has always been the same: The vulnerable find family with His people. The end of the study fleshes this out in Jesus and His Church. Here are a few ways to utilize the study:

Large Group

Option 1: Active learning environment. Have everyone study the text(s) on their own during the week. Come to the gathering time and meet with a smaller group to discuss what was learned. Then gather to hear the lesson on it, commit to next steps, and get homework for next week.

Option 2: Master Teacher. Study the text, apply to the reality of the vulnerable around us, break into smaller discussion groups, return from groups to make a commitment toward living according to the truth studied.

Small Group

Option 1: Active learning environment. Have everyone study the text(s) on their own during the week. Gather your group to discuss what you have learned. The leader then fills in the gaps and helps make practical applications. Commit to next steps and get your reading plan for the next week.

Option 2: Have different people in the group study the different texts in preparation to be the presenter. Each week a new member presents the heart of the teaching and how it impacts their faith. The group leader then navigates the discussion time. Commit to living out the truth together.

Personal

Walk through each text and discussion prompt with your Bible and Journal. Thoughtfully engage each question. Write an action step and prayer at the conclusion of each lesson. And take your time as one lesson may be completed in a day and another may take a week to engage all the scripture.

Most importantly, pass it on. Once you have caught the Father’s heart, share it with someone else.
